An excellent role has arisen for a Financial Crime Manager within Intrum Group UK’s Compliance function where you will lead the financial crime function, providing day to day financial crime management, guide the business on related risks, and develop the financial crime framework.  You will provide assurances regarding financial crime exposure, articulate key risks, and propose solutions. 

As the SME for financial crime queries, you will offer knowledge during projects and new business implementation deals, ensuring appropriate levels of compliance.  The role involves enhancing colleague awareness and training, proactive horizon scanning and informing stakeholders of changes while supporting the Nominated Officer and UK MLRO in overseeing executing and effectiveness of the Financial Crime framework within the business.

The role will be based at either of our Manchester or Bolton offices combined with home working.

 

The role:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on industry financial crime requirement and best practise e.g. FCA Fin Crime Guide, JMLSG guidance, relevant Money Laundering, Bribery, Fraud, Terrorist Financing and Sanctions legislation, among others
  • Oversee the management of Financial Crime risk through internal policies, including the identification of emerging risks, the establishment of appropriate controls and the oversight of implementation of improvements.
  • Support senior team members in management of compliance risks, provide solutions which underpin Intrum Group UK’s commitment to fair treatment of our customers
  • Oversee the UK’s adherence to the Financial Crime and AML standards and compliance with its requirements in respect of staff training.
  • Play an active role in raising regulatory, operational, and financial crime prevention awareness through training in the business
  • Complete a regular horizon scanning to identify any upcoming regulatory changes related to financial crime and ensure key business stakeholders are kept appropriately informed
  • Initiate regulatory business change related to financial crime and support business in its implementation to ensure appropriate level of compliance is maintained
  • Lead the process of financial crime reporting across multiple regulated entities
  • Support, challenge and monitor the business in its delivery of Good Customer Outcomes through appropriate Consumer Duty governance arrangements, ensuring compliance with the regulatory Consumer Duty standards is maintained

About you:

  • Be effective in using and implementing business tools, systems and controls for analysing and monitoring regulatory risks
  • Knowledge of the financial services regulation and rules with particular focus on consumer credit, mortgage and collections areas
  • Experienced in Financial Crime prevention including AML, Fraud, Sanctions, PEPs and Anti Bribery and Corruption.
  • Demonstrate excellent standards of delivery of compliance best practice in a regulated business
  • Strong people skills – ability to influence, persuade, motivate and to challenge
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Have naturally inquisitive mind, identifying actual and potential issues
