In this role you will ensure the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of information processed by the company, and to build and maintain some of the  cyber security critical controls (e.g., SOC, security gateways, vulnerability management, penetration testing, etc.).

The Cyber Security Manager will play a key role within the information security function by building and maintaining its core technical security controls, supporting IT teams in securing their IT infrastructure, supporting the technical response to security incidents, and the delivery of strategic initiatives such as the adoption of new technologies, and the acquisition and IT integration of new businesses.

We offer remote working with the requirement to travel to our Manchester offices, occasionally. 

 

What will you be doing?

  • Design and deploy IT security solutions, liaising with various business stakeholders including IT and Operations to ensure security requirements are captured during change initiatives and development cycles.
  • Act as the Security lead on relevant projects, providing subject matter expertise and technical knowledge in the areas of information security to the business.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging security trends, risks, new guidance, or standards (internal and external), and security enhancing technologies.
  • Managing critical security controls (e.g., web and email, MDM, IdAM, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing
  • Managing infrastructure security, including LAN, WAN, and public facing websites and customer portals
  • Performance of user access reviews and super user audits, engaging with IT teams to ensure timely completion and outputs

 

Is this you?

  • Proven experience within a technical security role
  • Degree level in Information Security, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Professional certification or knowledge/understanding of one or more of; Security+, SSCP, CISM, AWS Security, Azure Security, or other relevant information security credentials
  • Experience with anti-virus software, intrusion detection, firewalls, authentication systems, log management, and security content filtering tools – email and web
  • Experience of working within or alongside an MSSP or SOC provider
  • Self-motivated, highly proactive, and an ability to lead on the end-to-end delivery of projects
  • Strong communicator with positive influencing and interpersonal skills
  • People management skills
  • Effective prioritisation and organisational skills, ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
